There are children waiting for sponsors

Recently, we received a report with stories of nine new children waiting for sponsors. These very sad stories highlight the value of all that we are trying to do.

One of the children is a 13-year-old girl who comes from the western part of Kenya and is a total orphan who lost both her parents at a young age. Her aunt, who has eight children and has separated from her husband, cares for her. She suffers from a physical disability and has some difficulty walking. She would like to become a nurse.

A 10-year old boy was born to a single parent, and his mother suffers a mental disability. He has been under the care of his grandmother, who is a peasant farmer and has five other children to take care of. He would like to become a police officer.

An 11-year-old girl is an abandoned child who was rescued by a ‘Good Samaritan’. Her parent left her with current caregiver and never came back. She would like to be an engineer and her best subject is Maths.

We want to help these wonderful children as much as we possibly can. Please consider sponsoring one of them. Sometimes, making such a decision might be hard as we often worry about long-term responsibilities however investing in the lives of young people is a great privilege.

One of the Kisumu Children sponsors said: ‘It’s a great joy too be involved on sponsoring a child. Helping children individually with nourishment, schooling, and spiritual life and encouraging them by expressing our love and support carries its own reward. It is more blessed to give than to receive. However, it has the bonus of being two-way in that we get a response from the children and can see howe they are developing and reaching their God-give potential. We have ben delighted to receive drawings as well as letters from each child. Yes, it is a very worthwhile way of giving.’
