We have been sponsoring B, a young girl from CBCH, for four years. We receive regular letters, photos and drawings from her and in turn we write back to share a little about our family and about life and events in the UK.
Abi (13) loves to hear from someone who lives in a very different country and culture. Ben (17) says that B has made him think about the things that we have and how different our lives are compared with hers. As a family we all pray for B and keep her sponsorship card near our meal table so we can remember her when we gather together to eat.
In Kenya it is great to see students striving to be the very best they can be, with CBCH encouraging their young people aiming to be productive members of society. As adults we have been struck by how cheerful all the young people and staff are, facing up to lack of parents and economic challenges. We could certainly learn from this! We have been glad to be able to help, in a small way, a Christian venture supporting young people. One day we hope to do more!
