Invitation to KCT Annual Meeting

You are warmly invited to join us at our Annual Meeting. The Kisumu Children Trust AGM will held on Saturday, 12th October 2024, from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm, in the upper hall of St Luke’s Church, Langley Way, Watford WD17 3EG, which has kindly agreed to host us again.

The lives of many children in the Kisumu area are dominated by hunger, limited educational opportunity, poverty, lack of security, and, for some, disability. In the face of such overwhelming need, can a small charity make a difference? Come to hear and see how you have enabled Kisumu Children Trust (KCT) and the Cherry Brierley Children’s Home (CBCH) to respond:

  • TO HUNGER: Providing 150 free lunches every day at CBCH, channeling support for a new kitchen at our local school to prepare lunches daily for 1,000 children.
  • TO EDUCATION AND LIMITED OPPORTUNITIES: – Financing sponsored children with uniforms, school, training, and further education. – Organising IT courses at CBCH to help with future employment prospects. – Raising support to build new classrooms at another local school to replace unfit-for-purpose rooms
  • TO POVERTY: – Providing sponsorship for individual deprived children. – Creating opportunities such as micro-business start-up costs for suitable candidates to support their families.
  • TO LACK OF SECURITY: – Employing a Social Worker to counsel distressed children. – Help dysfunctional families. – Teach care-givers skills, especially for single mums. – Bible Camps to introduce children to security in the LORD Jesus Christ.
  • TO DISABILITY: – Conducting a survey to establish areas of difficulty and greatest need. – Helping individuals with specific needs such as a facial tumour and severe paralysis.
  • TO RECORD: All the provision from our supporters are recorded and organised by our Bookkeeper and Treasurer.

We aim for the meeting to be friendly, informal, informative, and worthwhile – so please join us on the 12th of October. The meeting will be followed by a cup of tea or coffee and cake. Come from 2.00 pm and enjoy an early cup of tea or coffee beforehand, browse our stall, and chat with others.
